The first book in JK Rowling’s insanely popular series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was first published on June 26, 1997.

It may not seem like it, but it has been 20 years since JK Rowling first published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – the book that started it all. It was today that Harry Potter received the letter (or rather letters!) that changed his life. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (published as Sorcerer’s Stone in the US) and the six books that followed over the years, brought back the love for reading among the young and old and introduced generations of readers to Harry’s magical world and friends.

On the 20th anniversary of the first book, we thought it’d be fun to revisit Harry’s first year at Hogwarts and test how much you still remember. There are three levels (easy, medium, hard) to the quiz and all questions are based on the events and characters as they appear in the book (not the film).
