Effigies of Gurpreet Singh and Kulwant Singh, authors of book Martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, were burnt by the activists of the NGO "Shaheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Youth Front".

Claiming the two in their book had written that Bhagat Singh was first shot dead and later was hanged with broken neck, the Front said the publication would create "utter confusion" in the country's history.

The NGO also demanded immediate ban on the book's publication.
