BFC Brunch Opinion: Something borrowed, something blue

I’m not a fan of weddings. Even when I got hitched five years ago, my first idea for a reception was a pool party. That idea got rejected, but we did tinker with quite a few bits of tradition.

I’m not a fan of weddings. Even when I got hitched five years ago, my first idea for a reception was a pool party. That idea got rejected, but we did tinker with quite a few bits of tradition. I refused to have a veil, trail or tiara (who am I, Kate Middle-ton?), our backdrop was a caricature of the happy couple, and there was no stage. Even now (I blush to say it), friends tell us it was one of the best weddings they attended. So break the rules – after all, you only get married once!
