We have reformulated our vision to make Air-India more competitive and compatible to launch new flights to South Africa, Nigeria, Australia, Beijing, Washington, San Fransisco, Manchester and Seoul, Thulasidas told reporters.

The A-I CMD said the airline would soon launch service of some medium capacity ultra-long range aircraft for non-stop flight to USA and other distant countries.

He said the Guwahati-Kolkata-Bangkok flight will be resumed by March 2005 and A-I was also exploring the possibility of introducing more flights from Kolkata and the northeastern region.

Flights to Bangladesh are also planned, Thulasidas said.

The airline also intends to buy 28 new aircraft and make changes in the food served on board the aircraft, he said.
