BHEL profit surges 36.6 pc to Rs 4,287 cr in FY'10

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Thursday reported a jump of 36.61 per cent in its net profit to Rs 4,287 crore for financial year 2009-10.

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Thursday reported a jump of 36.61 per cent in its net profit to Rs 4,287 crore for financial year 2009-10.

The company had a net profit of Rs 3,138 crore during the last financial year (2008-09).

During FY'10, the power equipment maker's turnover increased to Rs 34,050 crore from Rs 28,033 crore in fiscal 2008-09, the public sector major said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Shares of BHEL were quoting at Rs 2,385, marginally down by 0.02 per cent in afternoon trade on the BSE.
