The company had posted a net profit of Rs 74.88 crore in the corresponding period previous year, Motherson Sumi Systems said in statement.
The consolidated total income during the third quarter of this fiscal also jumped by 18.61% to Rs 2,152.57 crore from Rs 1,814.81 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
As on December 31, 2010, the company's consolidated total debt stood at Rs 991.16 crore.
Reacting to the results, the shares of the company were trading 2.46% at Rs 183.55 a piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange in the afternoon.
