Sensex up 46 points in afternoon trade

At 2.20 pm, the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower on weak Asian cues at 15,711.8 points, was trading at 15,815.75 points, up 45.90 points or 0.29 per cent.

The broader-based Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also ruling in the green at 4696.45 points, up 0.33 percent.

Broader market indices were also in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.55 per cent higher and the BSE smallcap index up 0.92 per cent.
