The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked all operators to immediately work out an action plan to meet its quality of service parameters. The regulator on Friday expressed concern over the poor quality of service provided by both fixed and cellular mobile service providers, as measured by conditions defined two years ago in regulatory rules.
TRAI has held meetings individually with the service providers this week told them about a fall in quality of service provided by them.
The regulator's message was conveyed to all operators-Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd, Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd, Idea, Hutch, Reliance Communications, Reliance Telecom, Reliable Internet Services, Shyam Telelink, Tata Teleservices and Spice and Bharti Airtel, Aircel/Dishnet, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and BPL.
"The service providers have assured to meet these benchmarks," TRAI said in a statement.
