Auto Expo 2023: Hyundai launches Ioniq 5 EV at ₹44.95 lakh

Ioniq 5 is the Korean auto giant's second electric offering in India, after Kona Electric. Hyundai opened bookings for the model in December last year.

Hyundai has finally launched the Ioniq 5 EV in India, doing so on the opening day of the Auto Expo in Greater Noida, on Wednesday. Ioniq 5 is Hyundai's second electric offering in the country after Kona Electric, and will be available at a starting price of ₹44.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

The model made its debut in the presence of actor Shah Rukh Khan. The Korean auto giant opened bookings for it in December last year.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV

The brand's new flagship, Ioniq 5 is based on the in-house Electric-Global Modular Platform (EGMP). In terms of features, it gets a 12.3-inch digital cluster, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Applr CarPlay, Hyundai BlueLink connected car technology, Bose sound system, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control etc.

For passenger safety, it comes with features such as six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), all four disc brakes, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and more.

A 72.6 kWh battery pack powers the India-spec version of this car, and according to the company, gives a range of 631 km (ARAI certified). The electric motor generates 214 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm torque.
