Pro riders push the Honda Goldwing off-road and into the air, using the touring bike on dirt tracks instead of smooth tarmac.

Seeing a Honda Goldwing being used for off-roading is not something most of you would expect. Yet that is exactly what has appeared on social media after two professional riders posted videos riding the 400-kg touring motorcycle on dirt.

Jumping a 393-kg machine: Because why not?

American motocross and supercross racer Carson Brown shared a clip featuring an older-generation Goldwing being ridden flat-out through sand. The video shows Brown launching the bike off large mounds and landing it repeatedly, maneuvers more commonly seen on motocross bikes than on luxury tourers. Despite the heavyweight and touring-focused setup, the Gold Wing takes the abuse without any visible mechanical failure.

In a separate video, Spanish rider Kirian Mirabet uses the newer-generation Goldwing Tour on a dirt track. His run is less extreme but still unexpected. Mirabet slides the bike through corners and maintains control on loose surfaces, demonstrating how far rider skill alone can push a motorcycle outside its comfort zone.

Built for highways, not sand mounds

The Honda Goldwing is not designed for off-road operation. With just 130 mm of ground clearance, road-focused suspension, and a kerb weight of 393 kg, its purpose is long-distance touring on paved roads.

The Honda Goldwing Tour is on sale in India at an ex-showroom price of 42.82 lakh. Power comes from a 1,833 cc, liquid-cooled, six-cylinder boxer engine producing 124 hp at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed gearbox.

Dimensionally, the motorcycle measures 2,615 mm in length, 905 mm in width, and 1,430 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,695 mm. Seat height is rated at 745 mm, and fuel tank capacity stands at 21 litres.

Suspension is handled by a double-wishbone setup at the front and a Pro-Link rear system with electronically adjustable spring preload. Braking comes via dual 320 mm front discs with six-piston callipers and a 316 mm rear disc with a three-piston calliper. Tyres are sized at 130/70R18 at the front and 200/55R16 at the rear.
