The XUV 7XO is the facelifted version of the XUV700 and carries a revised name as part of Mahindra’s ongoing effort to streamline its SUV nomenclature. The approach mirrors the transition from XUV300 to XUV 3XO earlier this year when that model received its mid-cycle update.

What’s expected to change in the updated SUV
While Mahindra has not released full details of the 7XO, teaser images indicate that the SUV will retain the familiar overall profile of the outgoing model. However, it is expected to adopt a more contemporary design direction inspired by the brand’s upcoming electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and XEV 9s. Visual changes are likely to include new front and rear styling, updated headlamps and tail-lamps, redesigned bumpers, and fresh alloy-wheel patterns.
Interior revisions have not yet been disclosed, though Mahindra may introduce some of the newer tech features seen in its recent EV concepts and production models. More information is expected closer to the launch.
Powertrain lineup expected to continue unchanged
Mechanical specifications are likely to remain unchanged. The XUV 7XO is expected to continue with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque, and the 2.2-litre diesel engine rated at 185 hp and 450 Nm. Both engines should continue to be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. An all-wheel-drive option, previously available with the diesel variant, is also expected to remain in the lineup.
With bookings set to begin next week, Mahindra will soon reveal additional details as the XUV 7XO moves toward its early-January market debut.
