The Nissan Gravite, set for launch in January 2026, will share the 1.0-litre petrol engine with the Triber, producing 72 PS.

Nissan Motor India has announced the name of its upcoming product for the domestic market. Called Gravite, the MPV marks the beginning of the company’s renewed strategy in India. It will be the first model introduced under this plan, with a launch scheduled for January next year and showroom availability expected by March 2026. The brand says Gravite has been developed in India for Indian customers, and an official reveal is set to take place soon.

Nissan Gravite: Shares underpinnings with Renault Triber
Nissan Gravite will share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber, which has been on sale in the Indian market since 2019. Both MPVs will be sharing the same platform, which means that the Gravite will use the CMF-A (Common Module Family) platform. The Gravite will be offered as a 7-seater MPV.

Nissan Gravite: Engine options
While not confirmed as of now, the Gravite will share its engine with the Triber. So, expect the same 1.0-litre petrol engine that is a 3-cylinder unit. It produces 72 Ps of max power and a peak torque output of the 96 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
The Triber was expected to get the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine from the Renault Kiger. However, that didn’t happen. Now, we hope we get to see the turbo petrol engine on the Gravite. The engine is tuned to produce 100 Ps of max power and a peak torque output of up to 160 Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission.

Nissan Gravite: Most affordable MPV
The Triber is the most affordable MPV in the Indian market. It is priced between ₹5.76 lakh and ₹8.60 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. We are expecting the Gravite to be priced only in this price range. However, there is a possibility that there will be an introductory price which will be lower initially.
Nissan expanding dealerships
Nissan currently has 155 sales outlets throughout India. And the brand plans to have 250 outlets by FY 26-27. The company also revealed that they are closely monitoring the locations of the new dealerships and service centres.
