In the first incident, constable Gurmeet Singh, deployed at the security of cricketers, was hit at Hotel Taj, Sector 17, when hotel manager Sandeep Makroo suddenly came in his car and hit him.

Gurmeet was standing along with three other guards when the manager’s car took a turn, hit and left him injured. A case was registered after the complaint by the cop. The manager was arrested and later bailed out.

In another incident, head constable Mehar Chand said he was hit by a truck (HP-64-4747) in Sector 26 while he was on way to home on his two-wheeler.

Accused truck driver Vijay, a native of Nepal, has been arrested and the case was registered at the police station, Sector 26.

Over the past two years, around 30 unsavoury incidents involving motorists and cops have been reported in city. Sources say the cases involved those in which young motorists either misbehaved with cops or with other motorists after their vehicle was signaled to stop or intercepted or some contact between vehicles.
