In a message here, the chief minister also called upon the people of the state to work zealously to ensure overall development and prosperity.

"Now the time has come for the state to usher in an era of overall progress and growth. Let us make a firm resolve to make Punjab a frontrunner state in the country through inclusive growth so that the fruits of development must percolate at the grassroots level, especially to ameliorate the lot of the poorest of the poor," he said.

Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, in his message, wished Punjabis living all over India and abroad, soliciting the cooperation and support from people to comprehend the vision of a modern, progressive Punjab for people to lead a life of dignity and self-respect.
