Body of Hansali dera head immersed in Sutlej

The body of Baba Ajit Singh Hansaliwale was immersed in Sutlej at Gurdwara Bhabhor Sahib in Nangal in Rupnagar district on Sunday evening.

The body of Baba Ajit Singh Hansaliwale was immersed in Sutlej at Gurdwara Bhabhor Sahib in Nangal in Rupnagar district on Sunday evening. The body, placed in a glass box, was brought to Nangal from Fatehgarh Sahib in a procession attended by hundreds of people lined up on both sides of the road from Morinda to Nangal.

Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib jathedar Giani Mal Singh and SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar led the people at Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, while Anandpur Sahib MP Prem Singh Chandumajra and Punjab education minister led Rupnagar residents in paying their last respects to the departed soul.

The body was taken in the middle of the river through a boat by religious personalities for immersion in the river, amidst recitation of religious hyms.

Former Akal Takht jathedar Giani Puran Singh, Damadami Taksal head Harnam Singh Dhuma, former Punjab assembly deputy speaker Bir Devinder, former Nangal MLA Rana KP Singh , Paramjit Singh Hansali, former MLAs Didar Singh, Harbans Lal, former Punjab sports director Kartar Singh and a large number of religious personalities attended the immersion ceremony.
