The police have already arrested two other accused in the case. That leaves just one more accused the police are looking for.

The police produced Harpreet Singh, arrested on Tuesday, before Chief Judicial Magistrate Kanchan Mahi on Wednesday. They informed the court that he had, in his disclosure statement, admitted his involvement in the case. He reportedly said one of the accused was hiding in Gurgaon while another was in Mujaffarnagar.

Before the court was to announce its orders on police remand, two more accused surrendered before it. Manvir Singh and Sukhminder Singh were then remanded in police custody. The police are hoping they will be able to help them get to Sompal, the fifth accused who is absconding.
