No person was reported to have died of Covid-19 in the tricity on Wednesday, though 180 new cases surfaced.

In Chandigarh, 67 people tested positive, taking the total to 19,682. No death was reported for second consecutive day.

With 30 patients being discharged, the number of those cured reached 18,967, leaving 399 active cases.

Meanwhile, four new areas have been declared micro-containment zones in Sectors 22, 34, 41 and 50.

In Mohali, 94 people tested positive while 106 were discharged after being cured.

The total stands at 18,143, of which 16,651 patients have recovered and 340 have died. As many as 1,152 cases remain active.

In Panchkula, 19 people tested positive, taking the total to 9,964. While 9,617 patients have been cured, 142 have died, leaving 205 active cases.
