The Punjab and Haryana high court on Friday directed chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to take a considered decision within a month on uploading answer keys of the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) on the CBSE website before carrying out checking of optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets.
The AIPMT is scheduled on May 4. The order came from the division bench comprising chief justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and justice Arun Palli on a public interest litigation filed by Chandigarh resident Dr Arvind Goyal.
The petitioner had also sought directions from the court to the CBSE to make a provision for inviting objections from the candidates regarding ambiguous questions and answers. Directions were also sought to make a provision for considering the objections by the subject experts so that cor rections, if any, could be made in the answer keys before initiating the evaluation of the OMR sheets.
The petitioner also informed the court that he had earlier also pointed out mistakes in NCERT books of biology for Classes 11 and 12.
The court directed the CBSE to take a decision on the points raised by the petitioner.
