The Punjab government on Wednesday issued “strict instructions” to all officers and employees to maintain punctuality to ensure their availability to the public during office hours. Officers have specifically been asked to remain present at their headquarters on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, a spokesman said here.

A fresh circular in this regard was issued to all departments, principal secretaries, deputy commissioners, boards, corporations and municipal bodies, which also reiterated instructions to strictly maintain ‘9 am to 5 pm’ office timings.
