Haryana proud of BSF jawan's upreme sacrifice, says Khattar

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has expressed sorrow and grief over the death of Rocky, the BSF constable hailing from Yamunanagar who laid his life while preventing Pakistani militants from entering into a BSF bus near Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has expressed sorrow and grief over the death of Rocky, the BSF constable hailing from Yamunanagar who laid his life while preventing Pakistani militants from entering into a BSF bus near Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Khattar said the BSF bus was attacked by a militant who fired at the bus indiscriminately after coming near it with the intention of getting inside the bus and Rocky retaliated instantly and killed the militant on the spot. "This valiant action of Rocky prevented the entry of militant into the BSF bus and their further intention to cause casualties to the BSF personnel inside the bus. Rocky sustained bullet injuries in this gun battle and succumbed to injuries subsequently".

Khattar said that the people of the state were proud of the supreme sacrifice made by Rocky while safeguarding the lives of other BSF personnel.

He expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul might rest in peace.
