The matter was sorted out after local journalists reached the spot and intervened. The Indian National Lok Dal, meanwhile, called for a bandh in Sirsa city, Kalanwali, Dabwali and Ellenabad towns on Saturday to condemn the Sirsa MLA's connection in the case.

"An ex-minister of Haryana government, Gopal Kanda, has created such circumstances for a 23-year-old girl named Geetika Sharma of New Delhi, who used to be an employee at his MDLR company that she had to end her life," Padam Chand Jain, district president of INLD said.
