Karnal Nari Niketan inmate injured while escaping

An inmate of Nari Niketan here sustained injuries on Monday while trying to scale a wall of the protection home. Police sources said the girl, 18, wanted to runaway from Nari Niketan and in the process got entangled in the barbed wire fence on the boundary wall. On hearing her cries, inmates and security personnel rushed and rescued her.

Police sources said the girl, 18, wanted to runaway from Nari Niketan and in the process got entangled in the barbed wire fence on the boundary wall. On hearing her cries, inmates and security personnel rushed and rescued her. She was admitted at a trauma centre and her condition was stated to be stable.

In July, three women had run away from Nari Niketan and were later found from different places by the district police. In the light of the July incident, the administration had strengthened the security arrangements.

Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) estate officer Subhita Dhaka was directed to hold a magisterial probe into the Monday incident.
