Land to DLF: HC reserves verdict

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday reserved its judgment on a bunch of petitions in a case in which it had in November 2012 restrained Delhi Land and Finance (DLF) developers from constructing on 278 acres at Wazirabad village in Gurgaon district and creating third-party rights.

The Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday reserved its judgment on a bunch of petitions in a case in which it had in November 2012 restrained Delhi Land and Finance (DLF) developers from constructing on 278 acres at Wazirabad village in Gurgaon district and creating third-party rights.

The construction company is coming up with Golf Villas on the site under "Magnolias" project. The petitions by villagers Raj Kumar and others had challenged the state government decision of acquiring the 278-acre forestland in 2003 for "public purpose" and in 2010 handing it over to DLF for a "private purpose".
