Panjab University: Department of Urdu announces its interview schedule

Department of Urdu, Panjab University (PU has announced the interview schedule for certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses in Urdu and Persian.
The interviews for the above mentioned classes and courses will be conducted on July 21 from 10 am to 5 pm in the department.
Candidates are required to bring original copies of their previous degrees, certificate, detail mark sheets, caste certificate and other certificates related to the reserved seats in different categories.

With 20 medals, Haryana athletes stamp their authority in Commonwealth Games
Carrying on with their sporting legacy in global events, Haryana athletes stamped their authority once again to bag 20 medals for India in the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham; nearly 35 percent of the medals won by India. India won 22 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze to finish at the fourth spot behind Australia, England and Canada. Amit Panghal from Rohtak's Mayna village also won a gold in men's flyweight (51kg) in boxing.

Punjab and Delhi MLAs also received extortion calls: Anil Vij
Haryana home minister Anil Vij on Monday said the state police will dig out and solve every layer of the case pertaining to recent death threats and extortion calls that four Haryana legislators had received. According to the home minister, three MLAs from Punjab and two MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi had also received such threatening calls.

Electricity Amendment Bill: No discussions held with stakeholders, says Harsimrat in Parliament
Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Monday asked Union power minister RK Singh to place in Parliament the details of the meeting held with the state governments and farmer organisations on the Electricity Amendment Bill. Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Monday, she asserted that the agriculture ministry had given a written assurance to the farmers' organisations that these Bills will be placed in Parliament after consultation with them.
