Pb: Result for 2,791 posts of teachers announced

The Punjab education department on Tuesday completed the recruitment process of 2,791 teaching faculty, including headmasters and teachers.

The Punjab education department on Tuesday completed the recruitment process of 2,791 teaching faculty, including headmasters and teachers.

The result will be uploaded on the website www.educationrecruitmentboard.com on Wednesday.

Announcing this, education minister Daljit Singh Cheema said 264 headmasters would be appointed in schools under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan. He said that similarly, 38 postgraduate teachers’ and 20 trained graduate teachers’ posts would be filled in Adarsh schools.

Cheema said the recruitment process for the selection of 2,469 master-cadre teachers under six different subjects had also been completed. He said 548 teachers had been selected for English, 1,282 for social sciences, 172 for mathematics, 84 for science, 382 for Punjabi and one for agriculture.

“We will upload the list of selected candidates on our website along with the list of candidates who have participated in the counselling along with their merit list. Every candidate can check his marks and merit on the official website,” said Cheema.

The education minister said that after taking acceptance letters from the selected candidates, the appointment letters would be issued within a week. He said that once the appointment letters were issued, the selected candidates would be asked to join work at the earliest.
