Police constable shoots wife, self in Chandigarh

A UT police constable on Friday shot dead his wife at Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16 before shooting himself. The woman, who was an employee of the hospital, died on the spot.

A UT police constable on Friday shot dead his wife at Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16 before shooting himself. The woman, identified as Dimple, was an employee of the hospital.


Eye witnesses said that the couple had an argument for some time after which in the fit of anger the constable fired four shots at her with his service revolver.

A stray bullet also hit a woman patient who had come to the hospital.

The policeman in uniform then attempted suicide before being overpowered by another police constable.
