
Police shake-up: 14 SSPs shifted
The Punjab government on Wednesday transferred 14 senior superintendents of police (SSPs) in a major shake-up wherein 28 Indian Police Service (IPS) and seven Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers were given new assignments with immediate effect.
Ishwar Singh is now director of the State Narcotic Control Bureau with additional charge as inspector general (IG), Police Training Academy, Phillaur. Besides, RK Jaiswal has been posted as commissioner of police, Jalandhar, and Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh, as the police commissioner of Ludhiana.
The new SSPs include Bikram Pal Singh for Batala; Dhanpreet Kaur , Kapurthala; Sanmeet Kaur, Nawanshahr; Harsh Kumar Bansal, Khanna; Gursharan Singh Sandhu, Moga; Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Muktsar; Gurpreet Singh Toor, Ferozepur; and Swapan Sharma for Fazilka. Among PPS officers, Narinder Bhargav is now SSP for Jalandhar Rural; Varinder Singh, Rupnagar; Inder Mohan Singh, Mohali (SAS Nagar); Ravcharan Singh Brar, (Ludhiana Rural); Bhupinder Singh Khattra, Mansa; and Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, for Faridkot.
Further, the government has posted Sanjeev Kalra as IGP, security; Nirmal Singh Dhillon as IGP, zonal, Jalandhar; Paramjit Singh Gill, IGP, zonal, Patiala; Amardeep Singh Rai as IGP, vigilance; Lok Nath Angra as IGP, intelligence-2; and Parveen Kumar Sinha as IGP, provisioning. Munish Chawla will hold the post of DIG, Rupnagar; Nilabh Kishore is now DIG, Ludhiana; Ashish Chaudhary, AIG, personnel; J Nilambari Vijay, DCP, Ludhiana; S Rahul, AIG, intelligence; S Bhoobathi, joint director, vigilance bureau; and Naveen Singla is now DCP, Jalandhar.
Harjinder Singh gets the post of commandant, 3rd IRB, Ludhiana; Inderbir Singh is now SP, crime, Chandigarh; Harcharan Singh Bhullar is commandant, 4th Commando Battalion, Mohali; Surjit Singh is now commandant, 75th Battalion, Punjab Armed Police, Jalandhar; and Jaspreet Singh (PPS) is the new commandant, 80th Battallion, PAP, Jalandhar.
