Bengaluru airport's terminal 2 to begin operations on January 15
The new terminal was expected to begin operations by the end of December but it got delayed.
The operations of the latest terminal2 at Kempegowda International Airport are all set to begin on January 15, announced the management of Bengaluru airport. The new terminal was expected to begin operations by the end of December but it got delayed.
A post in the official Twitter handle of Bengaluru airport read, “#BLRAirport will begin domestic operations at Terminal 2 with @OfficialStarAir on January 15, 2023. We are ready to welcome you to T2!”
The airlines Star Air will operate the first flight from terminal 2 and the plane will take off to Karnataka’s Kalaburgi from Bengaluru, said a report in the Times of India. Air Asia, Vistara and other domestic airlines will also begin operating from terminal 2 soon.
A five-lane way is also being made ready for smoother vehicle arrivals and departures for pick up and drop of passengers at the airport. International operations are expected to commence in April from the latest terminal.

The estimated cost of constructing the first phase ofterminal2is reportedly ₹13,000 crore, and it will have a built-up area of roughly2.5 lakh square meters. Another 4.41 lakh square metres will be added to theterminalduring the second phase. The first phase of the newterminalis expected to serve 25 million passengers a year. On November 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the latestterminal2at Kempegowda International Airport.
