BJP always against social justice: Siddaramaiah on Constitution Day
He also questioned what the party has done for the downtrodden, during their rule.
Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said the BJP in the state has always been against social justice. He also questioned what the party has done for the downtrodden, during their rule.

On the occasion of the Constitution Day, the Karnataka Congress conducted a ‘Constitution Day march’ in Bengaluru and slammed the ruling BJP. “The BJP government never worked for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. Can they even tell a few achievements in their rule? They opposed reservation and they have always been against minorities. They opposed the Mandal commission system in the state. BJP was never in the favor of social justice. Never before, not now and never in future," Siddaramaiah said, as quoted by ANI.
Siddaramaiah said the RSS never contributed to the freedom struggle and helped the British. “Did anyone from the RSS die during the freedom struggle? It is a matter of fact that the RSS favoured the British government in many instances. They were working together, back then,” the ex-CM said.
Karnataka BJP is yet to respond on the allegations of the leader of the opposition.
Meanwhile, the state unit of BJP earlier slammed Congress by saying that the party needs to focus on not getting divided instead of baseless allegations. The BJP said that the internal war between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar is intensifying, hence the party leaders are finding ways to save themselves from embarrassment.
