The iconic Jumbo Savari, the march of elephants carrying the golden howdah took place on Tuesday at Mysuru. Elephant Abhimanyu led the batch of elephants during the auspicious Meena Lagna and lakhs of people witnessed the grand celebrations in the heritage city.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and deputy CM DK Shivakumar attended the event in Mysuru, which is also the last day of ten-day Mysuru Dasara festival.
The police department has made elaborate security arrangements right from the Palace to the Bannimantap grounds. More than 6,000 personnel have been deployed for Dasara duty, to ensure that the festival concludes in a peaceful manner.
This year, the procession was restricted to the Mysuru Palace premises and featured just five elephants. It also did not pass through the city's main streets like previous years and the restriction was for better crowd management.
The ten-day festival kickstarted on October 15 at Chamundi Hills of the cultural city. Popular music director Hamsalekha formally inaugurated the event and chief minister.
Siddaramaiah was also present at the inaugural ceremony. He also formally invited the people of the country to visit Mysuru and witness the grand events. “With immense pleasure and pride, I, Shri Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, on behalf of the people of Karnataka, invite everyone from across the country and the world to the grandeur of the Mysuru Dasara festivities,” said the chief minister in a formal open invitation.
