Three travel agents have been booked for duping members of a traders’ association of 24.66 lakh on the pretext of booking a Goa tour. The association contacted the travel agent for making bookings for the members. The Division number 1 police lodged an FIR against the accused.

The accused have been identified as Lakhwinder Singh of the Travel zone of Chaudhary Complex, Basti Jodhewal, his son Ram Partap and his brother.

The FIR has been lodged following the statement of Tarun Arora, president of the Sewing Machine Dealers and Assemblers Association, Lakkar Bazar. Arora stated that he had contacted the accused to make a booking for the members of the association in Goa from September 1 to September 5. The accused offered a package for 24.66 lakh for the association members and took money in advance.

Arora added that the accused grabbed the money and did not make bookings for them.

ASI Lakhbir Singh, who is investigating the case, said a case under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the IPC has been lodged against the accused. A hunt is on for their arrest.
