A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for hacking his married daughter and her male friend to death.

Gurmel Singh of Bhaini Doaba Village of Koom Kalan, was booked by Koom Kalan police on February 20, 2018, for hacking his daughter and her male friend to death. A murder case was lodged against him following the complaint of Sunil Kumar, brother of the victim Kuldeep Kumar.
Sunil had stated that his brother Kuldeep had developed relations with a married woman. Later, the woman eloped with his brother.
He added that on February 20, 2018, the accused hacked his daughter and Kuldeep to death. The accused dumped the body in a cart and managed to escape. A murder case was lodged against the accused.
The incident took place on the outskirts of the city, where the man allegedly caught his daughter in a compromising position with her aide.
After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court of additional session judge Manjinder Kaur found the accused guilty of double murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
