Gurugram metro showing significant revenue growth: CS
Reviewing the performance of mass rapid transport in Gurugram and progress of ongoing metro projects in Haryana, Kaushal said three metro projects that chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced are at various stages of implementation.
The 28.5km long metro project between HUDA city centre to cyber city in Gurugram has been included in PM Gati Shakti projects and is now at the advanced stage of final approval from the Union government, chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said.
Reviewing the performance of mass rapid transport in Gurugram and progress of ongoing metro projects in Haryana, Kaushal said three metro projects that chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced are at various stages of implementation.
The projects in question are metro link from Rezangla Chowk to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (via Dwarka Sector-21), metro link from southern peripheral road to Panchgaon via global city and Manesar, extension of the Bahadurgarh metro up to Asaudha to connect with the Haryana orbital rail network and Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) expressway.
The chief secretary said the other project from Rezangla chowk to Dwarka, to connect IGI airport has also been sent to the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs for approval.
He said metro connectivity between Faridabad and Gurugram will also be considered on double-decker, via-duct in arrangement with NHAI.
He said these projects will provide an efficient and environment-friendly transport system to people and accelerate commercial development in Gurugram and other areas of Haryana.
Kaushal said on the revenue front, Gurugram metro has shown very significant growth in the last 11 months of 2022-23 fiscal by earning ₹40 crore revenue till February against ₹8 crore during the corresponding period.
Deploy guards at mining sites
Presiding over the state-level task force committee meeting, via virtual mode, with deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs), chief secretary Sanjeev Kaushal directed the DCs to regularly check and monitor illegal mining activities and deploy mining guards as per the requirement.
He asked the DCs and SPs to maintain vigil on illegal mining activities, especially in Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Sonepat, Mahendergarh, Charkhi Dadri and Bhiwani.
He also directed the officers to regularly hold meetings of district-level task force committee and upload the meeting related data on the portal. He said they should regularly send their report to the directorate of mining. In the meeting, DCs and SPs apprised about the steps taken to stop illegal mining.
