Himachal: Two Mandi soldiers killed as car falls into gorge
Both army men hailed from Mandi district, were on their way to attend a friend’s wedding when the accident occurred; body handed over to families after post-mortem examination
Two soldiers were killed after the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district. The mishap occurred near Darlog village in the Uttarsal Kataula area of Mandi at around 8:15 pm on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Nitesh Kumar, a resident of Mandi town, and Mahendra Kumar, a resident of Balh tehsil in Mandi district.

Reportedly, the soldiers were on their way to attend a friend’s wedding when the accident occurred. A team from Padhar police station took possession of the bodies at the scene and sent them to the zonal hospital in Mandi for a post-mortem examination. Later, the bodies were handed over to their families.
Police officials said a case has been registered under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS at the Padhar police station and an investigation into the incident is underway.
