Himachal: Vigilance finds irregularities in traffic inspector exam, four booked

Of the four accused, three are employees of the now disbanded Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission and one is an aspirant

As part of its ongoing investigation in the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission (HPSSC) paper leak case, the state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau has detected irregularities in the recruitment of traffic inspectors.

Additional director general of police (vigilance) Satwant Atwal Trivedi said on Thursday that a first information report (FIR) has been registered against four people, comprising three employees of the now disbanded HPSSC and a candidate.

The HPSSC had put out an advertisement, inviting applications for six posts of traffic inspector in September 2020. More than 35,000 candidates applied for the six posts. The exam was delayed by a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and held in August 2021 and the result was declared in January 2022.

The ADGP said that state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau has sufficient incriminating evidence against the accused.

So far, this is the fifth FIR in the HPSSC paper leak scandal that was unearthed last December.
