Navnoor Kaur, founder and CEO of Jagger Cane start-up, approached for roasting and grinding of nuts to produce value-added products from jaggery.

The MoA was signed in the presence of Nachiket Kotwaliwale, director ICAR- CIPHET, along with the CIPHET team.

Nachiket said the Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) programme is an initiative of ICAR for facilitating incubation of new start-ups or entrepreneurs and enterprises for innovative, commercial and potential technologies by providing need-based physical, technical, business and networking support.

The ICAR-CIPHET provides incubation services for selected technologies.

Navnoor Kaur is manufacturing different types of value-added crunchy jaggery crumbs without using any preservatives and chemicals.

Navnoor said jaggery is a healthier sweetener as well as medicinal sugar, rich in vitamins and minerals. “It is used in Ayurvedic medicines as a blood purifier and also used for curing infections and is a good alternative to sugar and other artificial sweeteners in many applications,” she said.
