Ludhiana mishap: Three killed, one injured as two bikes collide head-on
Sonu and Suresh Kumar were on one bike, while Karan and Sunny were on the other; the collision took place near Sai Dham; Sonu, Suresh and Karan suffered critical injuries and died at the spot
Three persons were killed and another injured after two motorcycles collided near Sai Dham on Hambran Road late Saturday night. The accident took place around 12.30 am, leaving both motorcycles badly damaged.

The deceased have been identified as Sonu, 36, and Suresh Kumar, alias Raju, 42, residents of Pratap Singh Wala, and Karan, 21, of Ayali Khurd. Karan’s friend Sunny, 19, who was riding pillion with him, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to assistant sub-inspector Bhupinder Singh, the investigating officer, four people were travelling on two separate motorcycles. Sonu and Suresh Kumar were on one bike, while Karan and Sunny were on the other. The collision took place near Sai Dham. Both bikes were extensively damaged. Sonu, Suresh and Karan suffered critical injuries and died at the spot, while Sunny was injured.
Police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and shifted the bodies to the civil hospital for post-mortem examinations. Sonu’s brother Kishori said Sonu and Suresh had been friends for nearly two decades. Sonu worked as a mason and is survived by two daughters and a son. Suresh, who worked as a trailer driver, is survived by two sons and three daughters.
Kishori said the two friends were travelling towards the Malakpur side late Saturday night when they met with the fatal accident. Karan and Sunny were also friends and were travelling on the same motorcycle when the crash occurred. Karan died in the accident, while Sunny sustained injuries and was taken to hospital.
ASI Bhupinder Singh said the police had informed the families of the victims and further action would be taken on the basis of their statements.
