Punjab forest dept reshuffles 23 senior IFS, PFS officers
Saurabh Gupta appointed chief wildlife warden, succeeds Basanta Raj Kumar, who is now MD, Punjab State Forest Development Corporation Limited
The state government has ordered the immediate reshuffle of 23 Indian Forest Service (IFS) and Punjab Forest Service (PFS) officers within the department of forests and wildlife preservation.

Under the orders issued on August 21, IFS officer Saurabh Gupta, currently CEO of the Punjab Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (Pun-CAMPA) and chief project director for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), takes over as chief wildlife warden, while retaining additional charge of the JICA project.
Outgoing chief wildlife warden Basanta Raj Kumar, IFS, has been posted as managing director of the Punjab State Forest Development Corporation Limited.
Pratima Srivastava, IFS, currently nodal officer for the Forest Conservation Act (FCA), has also been given charge of additional principal chief conservator of forests (administration and coordination).
Charchil Kumar has been appointed CEO of Pun-CAMPA; M Geethanjali has been posted as chief conservator of forests (working plan); Nidhi Srivastava takes charge as chief conservator of forests (Punjab Biodiversity Information Project); and Mahavir Singh has been transferred as chief conservator of forests (FCA).
Satnam Singh has been posted as chief conservator of forests (wildlife), with additional charge as director of the State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), Ladhowal, and chief of the Forest Research and Training Circle. Satinder Kumar Sagar and Sanjiv Kumar Tiwari have been appointed chief conservator of forests for plains and hills, respectively.
At the field level, Harjinder Singh, IFS, takes charge as conservator of forest, Bist circle, with additional charge of north circle, while Vikramjit Singh Kundra, IFS, becomes conservator of forest, Shivalik circle, with additional charge of extension circle and Wildlife Shivalik.
IFS officers Kaushal Kishore, Atal Kumar, Harbhajan Singh, and Jarnail Singh have been posted as divisional forest officers (DFOs) at Muktsar, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, and Dasuya, respectively.
Among PFS officers, Swaran Singh takes over as DFO, Sangrur, Anjan Singh as DFO, Pathankot (holding additional charge of DFO wildlife, Pathankot), Guramanpreet Singh as DFO, Ludhiana, Rajesh Kumar Gulati as DFO, Nawanshahr at Garhshankar, and Davinderpal Singh as DFO, wildlife, Phillaur.
