Woman killed, 7 injured as SUV plunges into gorge in Doda

Sub-divisional magistrate of Thathri, Athar Amin Zargar said, “An SUV on its way to Doda from Kishtwar skidded off the road near Thathri police station around 5.20 pm on Wednesday. While a woman passenger died on the spot, seven others were injured.”

A woman died on the spot and seven others were injured after their SUV skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in the Doda’s Thathri area on Wednesday evening, said officials.

Sub-divisional magistrate of Thathri, Athar Amin Zargar said, “A Duster vehicle on its way to Doda from Kishtwar skidded off the road near Thathri police station around 5.20 pm on Wednesday. While a woman passenger died on the spot, seven others were injured.”

The injured were rushed to a trauma centre at Thathri from where three were shifted to government medical college in Doda.

The passengers were returning to their village in Bhaderwah after paying obeisance at a temple in the Padder area.

The deceased was identified Sushma Devi, 46, a resident of Duggi-Dandi village of Bhaderwah.
