Delhi: Man held for sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl
A 25-year-old vegetable vendor was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Nihar Vihar after police reviewed CCTV footage.
A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl outside her residence in Nihar Vihar on Saturday, police said on Wednesday.

Police said the man, who was working as a vegetable vendor, was arrested on Tuesday from the Nihal Vihar area after investigators scanned over 100 CCTV cameras in the neighbourhood.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (outer) Vikram Singh said that on Saturday, the Nihal Vihar police station received a call from a person who alleged that his niece was sexually assaulted on Friday by an unknown person while she was outside their residence. The accused fled the spot soon after .
“The counselling of the girl was conducted and her statement was recorded in the presence of her parents. Based on her statement, a case was registered under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and investigation was taken up by the Nihal Vihar police personnel,” said DCP Singh.
DCP Singh said during the interrogation after the arrest, the man confessed to the crime.
