A senior police official said that they received information from Shastri Park police station regarding a man, who was admitted died in hospital of injuries he sustained in a fight.

The medico-legal case report of the deceased, Ramjani, showed he succumbed to two stabbing injuries sustained on his back, said the police.

DCP (northeast) Sanjay Kumar Sain said the boy confessed to the crime. “The boy said he was going to Yamuna Ghat with his friends for idol immersion and carried a kitchen knife with him. While Ramjani and Abhishek were in a scuffle with the others, the boy was abused when he tried to intervene. This infuriated the boy and he stabbed Ramjani,” Kumar said.
