Minor held for burglary at same Defence Colony house twice in three days

The Delhi Police crime branch has apprehended a juvenile for robbing a house in south Delhi’s Defence Colony twice in a period of three days, officers aware of the matter said on Tuesday.

Police said the juvenile was apprehended on Monday, and a search is on for his co-accused, also a minor.
Special commissioner of police (crime branch) Ravindra Singh Yadav said on December 11, Defence Colony resident Aman Raj Khanna lodged a complaint with the police over a theft at his house on the intervening night of December 10 and 11, in which mobile phones, an iPad and other electrical goods, a few antique coins, and around ₹12,000 in cash were stolen.
Three days later, on December 14, Khanna lodged another complaint, stating that on the intervening night of December 13 and 14, thieves entered in his house and stole another mobile phone.
Yadav said a crime branch team inspected Khanna’s residence and collected footage from CCTV cameras.
As a result of this mounting surveillance, the police succeeded in apprehending a juvenile in this connection on Monday. The juvenile disclosed that he, along with his associate, is involved in the case and they shared the stolen items. Stolen iPad, tab, antique coins and mobile phones were recovered from juvenile’s possession. The co-accused is absconding and will be nabbed soon,” Yadav said.
