Class 6 girl gang-raped by 3 men inside classroom in WB; all arrested: Police
The 12-year-old girl and the accused persons, all aged between 19-22 years, knew each other as they are from the same village
A Class 6 student was allegedly gang-raped by three village youths inside the school premises in West Bengal’s Malda district on Saturday.
The 12-year-old girl and the accused persons, all aged between 19-22 years, knew each other as they are from the same village. The minor girl is a friend of one of the accused person’s sister.
“We arrested the three persons on Sunday on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother. They were produced in court and are now in police custody,” said a police officer of Gazole police station.

They were charged with section 376DA of the Indian Penal Code (gangrape of woman under 16 years) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
The school was closed on Saturday but children from the village didn’t know about the same. Some children stayed back while some returned to their homes.
According to police, the three youths had climbed the wall when the school was closed. They were playing inside a classroom on the first floor.
“The minor girl and her friend had gone to the first floor classroom to play. After the other girl left, the accused persons allegedly gang-raped the minor girl. They were all known to each other. Other children were playing in the ground floor-rooms and in the school’s, playground,” said an officer.
The incident came to light after the minor girl’s friend informed the minor’s mother about the incident.
Them minor girl narrated her ordeal to the mother after which she lodged a complaint on Saturday and police arrested the youths later in the day.
