All primary health centres in Uttar Pradesh to have telemedicine facility soon: Yogi Adityanath
Over 4600 primary health centres of the state will be connected with health ATMs, which will provide the facility of testing 60 types of diseases, says Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said all primary health centres (PHCs) in Uttar Pradesh will be equipped with ultramodern facilities like tele-consultancy and telemedicine soon.
“Health services must be linked with technology. Over 4,600 PHCs of the state will be linked with all medical colleges, district hospitals of the state as well as SGPGI (Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences) and KGMU (King George’s Medical University). For this, health workers of the state will also be specially trained,” he said.
Yogi Adityanath was addressing a two-day conclave to mark the ‘Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC) 2022’ in Varanasi.
Union health and family welfare minister Mansukh Mandaviya was also present during the conference.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath addressed health officers from 22 states of the country and health ministers of five states and 900 community health officers here.
Yogi Adityanath further said this conference on health in Kashi, the city of Lord Shiva, the birthplace of Lord Dhanvantari and the parliamentary constituency of the world’s most popular leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will give a new message to the country.
Quoting the theme of the conclave ‘To build the world, we want a healthy future for all’, the chief minister said India always worked towards the welfare of all without discriminating on the basis of caste, creed or religion by following the motto “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina, Sarve Santu Niramaya”.
“India propagated yoga and consequently over 200 countries all over the world are leading a healthy lifestyle. Our country is being seen as a big hub of health and wellness centres,” he added.
Over 4600 primary health centres of the state will be connected with health ATMs, which will provide the facility of testing 60 types of diseases at a single centre, he said. For this, proper training will also be provided to the paramedical staff, he said.
The chief minister said that the most important thing in the field of health is taking the right decisions on time. During the world’s biggest pandemic (Covid-19), PM Modi took the right decisions with accuracy, he said.
“India’s health infrastructure was not as strong as it was in many developed countries of the world, but the ability of our Prime Minister to take timely decisions as per the requirement made it a model for the world. The power of many countries collapsed during the Covid-19 crisis,” he said.
The chief minister described health and wellness centres, Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as the four strong pillars of the health system.
Every Sunday, Arogya Mela is organised at all the primary health centres of Uttar Pradesh, where information about the health schemes of the Centre and the state is given to the people, he said.
“Our doctors treat three to five lakh patients every week at all the primary health centres of the state,” he said.
Representatives of 22 states were present in the conclave, including health officials of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Odisha, Punjab, Sikkim and Telangana
The chief minister also visited Kashi Vishwanath temple to offer prayers.
