“Dengue is in its last leap and if residents make sure they follow precautionary measures such as ensuring no stagnated water remains in their homes and office space, the dengue cases will stop in next few days,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International Doctors.
On Saturday, 9 fresh dengue cases were reported in Lucknow, and 26 on Friday. “The day and night temperatures have gone down considerably and the dengue cases should have stopped ideally below 25 degrees Celsius. They are still being reported which means the virus might have adjusted to the changed environment, but the good thing is cases are sporadic and not endemic. A little precaution and avoiding self-medication will ensure not one gets severely affected,” said Dr PK Gupta, former president, Indian Medical Association, Lucknow.
