The Centre has betrayed the OBC and backward communities by excluding a separate OBC column from the caste census and this should make the BJP allies from the OBC communities rethink their strategy in Uttar Pradesh, said Anil Jaihind chairman of All India Congress Committee OBC Wing on Friday.

“The OBC allies including Anupriya Patel, Sanjay Nishad and OP Rajbhar also need to focus upon the fact that centre betrayed the entire OBC. Government said in the parliament that second round of caste census will have column for OBC, which didn’t came in the notification. This amounts to betrayal with the entire OBC and backward caste people that number over 52 percent in country’s population,” said Jaihind addressing a press conference along with Rajendra Pal Gautam, UP Congress incharge and Manoj Yadav, UP Congress’ OBC wing president.

“We will run campaign against this betrayal by the BJP in the state,” said Manoj Yadav.

Anil Jaihind said, “They (BJP) are dreaming to finish the constitution by denying the very existance of the OBC. Modi and Shah want all power while wealth they wish to give to Adani and Ambadi.”

“Rahul Gandhi has been demanding caste survey in thr parliament and that compelled government to admit to it, but what we need in country is Telangana model Socio-Economic, Educational, Employment, Political and Caste (SEEEPC) Survey. The fact is Modi does man ki baat and never listens to other,” said Gautam.

“No policy will work unless you have a correct caste data. With the data you will come to know what lacks among community and which policy they actually need for empowerment. I did MBBS at 20 a month but today it takes lakhs of rupees to get same education,” said Anil Jaihind.

Later, in support of Rahul Gandhi’s protest at the Sansad Marg Police Station in New Delhi, a protest by Congress workers was organised near the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee office.
