Those aware of the development said chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh presided over the high-level committee meeting that gave the nod to the company’s solar power project here on Thursday.

“Yes, the high-level committee has given the go-ahead to the project. The committee’s recommendation will be placed before the state cabinet for approval,” a senior officer said. The company’s solar power project reportedly involves an investment of 8000 crore.

Invest UP’s evaluation committee presided over Abhishek Prakash on March 12 considered the SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited’s solar power project for making a recommendation to the high-level committee for issuing a letter of comfort to the company. There are, however, contradictions in the note sheet on the file about the applicant’s case and the approved minutes of the evaluation committee meeting.
