7-yr-old boy’s body found; mother’s friend held

Mother of the boy informed the police that she suspected her friend Nitin Kamble could be behind her son’s disappearance as he was forcing her to get married to him since last couple of days

Kalyan: The body of a seven-year-old boy was recovered from a water tank of an under-construction building in Kalyan’s Gauripada locality late on Monday. Investigation by the Khadakpada police revealed that the boy named Pranav Bhosale was allegedly kidnapped by his mother’s male friend and later, murdered by him.

The incident came to light when the boy did not return home from school and his mother Kavita Bhosale approached the police with a complaint of her missing son.

Kavita informed the police that she suspected her friend Nitin Kamble could be behind her son’s disappearance as he was forcing her to get married to him since last couple of days.

As per the police, Kamble works as a security guard at a residential building. He was picked up by the police and when questioned, he revealed the location of the crime. The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation fire department reached the location on Monday evening, and recovered the body from the water tank.

“After receiving the information from the police, we recovered the body of the boy from water tank. It looked like a murder. The body was handed to the police for further investigation,” said Namdeo Chaudhari, chief fire officer.

The Khadakpada police have detained Kamble and are investigating the matter. “The process for registering a case is under way. We have detained the person and he is being questioned,” said an officer of Khadakpada police.
