Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut also met them on Tuesday morning.

The Shiv Sena party men were allegedly injured in a scuffle with Eknath Shinde supporters a couple of days back in Neral. On meeting those admitted, Thackeray assured the corporator and party workers that the party stood by them and they need not worry.

Thackeray said, “Supporters of local rebel MLA attacked our men but they faced them head on. I have asked all to maintain peace and ensure there is no law and order situation.”

Commenting on the political situation, he said, “Some MLAs have fled to Guwahati as they did not have the courage to rebel here. Some innocent MLAs were taken there through deceit while some others were kidnapped. They have the option to return. Others who have rebelled should resign and face election if they have the courage.”

Meanwhile, Kharghar police have booked around 50 Shiv Sena party workers for protesting in the node on Saturday against rebel Sena leader, Eknath Shinde.

Led by local leader Shirish Gharat, the party workers burnt effigies of Shinde and rebel MLA of Raigad region and raised slogans against them.

Senior police inspector of Kharghar police station, Sandeepan Shinde, said, “We have registered cases against the protestors for burning effigies and raising slogans. Further investigations are on.”
