The police officer said that Das had purportedly misbehaved with Kavandar’s wife and verbally abused her and when Kavandar came to know about it, he sought help from Salve and the duo assaulted the victim.

“They bashed Das with bamboo sticks and stones and fled after he started bleeding,” said the police officer, adding that all the three did petty jobs in housing societies around Prem Nagar, like washing cars, etc.

The duo was booked under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). They were produced before a metropolitan magistrate court in Dadar and remanded to police custody till May 15.
